Administrative and Other Staff
Katha Larity, Director:
Miss Katha is dedicated to continuing Crossroads long tradition of excellence in early childhood education. She earned her Master’s of Arts in education from Georgian Court University and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in history from Fairfield University. Miss Katha brings a wealth of experience serving as a Director of a Goddard child care center for the past ten years. She started her career as a classroom teacher, working first with second graders then jumping to seventh and eighth graders (quite a change!). In addition to teaching social studies, she was also blessed to be able to teach religion, and worked hard to instill in the students the importance of building a life based on a relationship with Jesus. She is very excited to be returning to an environment where faith is central to the children’s days!
As Director, Miss Katha is CPR/First Aid certified. Additionally she holds certifications in Safe Sleep for Infants, Severe Allergies and Medication Administration. Each year she earns 20 hours of Professional Development credentials as mandated by the State, and attends various Director forums.
Miss Katha is very active in her home church, the Reformed Church of Tinton Falls, being one of the teachers of the church’s Sunday school and takes an active part in the planning and organizing of the various events that RCTF holds, attending Bible study as well as co-leading the church’s monthly Women’s Fellowship.
In her spare time, Miss Katha LOVES the outdoors and you can find her camping and hiking as much as possible. She is an avid reader and listens to contemporary Christian music, often attending concerts in the area. She has three adult children: Anna, Yvonne, and Frank, along with their cat Jasper.
Melina Bilotti, Center Administrator:
Miss Melina has been at Crossroads since 2000. She attended the Woods Secretarial School prior to relocating to New Jersey from New York and worked as an administrative assistant for a New York firm for 9 years.
She has two grown daughters, who worked at Crossroads as Teacher Aides, and now are certified teachers in the public school system. As her children were growing up, Miss Melina was a Girl Scout Leader for six years, organizing projects, crafts, fundraisers, special events and field trips. She was also a class mother for many years. Her organizational and managerial skills from all of these experiences have come in very handy in juggling the many aspects of her job!
Scott Schabilon, Chef:
Mr. Scott came to us in 2016 with over 20 years’ experience as a corporate chef. Our children are fortunate to have his culinary expertise! He is married with 2 boys and often practices recipes on his family. He is a very active dad and participates in many of his son’s activities.
His food is delicious and most of the time he cooks from scratch. The children love his special chef days where they learn how to make their own healthy meals. We are blessed to have his talent and enthusiasm in our kitchen!
